A Question About Audio Levels

My question concerns audio levels (loudness) for D* channels vs. OTA digital  channels.  I have the same issue/problem with an HD Tivo and a Samsung -- two different TV sets, and it is as follows:

The volume levels are significantly higher on all D* channels vs. the local OTA channels (whether they are in HD or not).  My D* package includes the local channels, too, so I can tune between D*'s ML4 and OTA 4-1 for example, and ML4 is much louder.  ML4, by the way, is at the same loudness as 202 (CNN), 501 (HBO), etc.  It is across the board -- all D* channels are at one loudness and all OTA digital channels at another (lower).

This just began happening a few days ago.  My signal strength for both types of signals is excellent.  I can't think of anything that could have failed at my end, though I'm not an engineer.  And, since I don't believe all the OTA guys got together all of a sudden, I'm left wondering if D* did something.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I have the same thing except I have always had that problem.

I didn't really ever think of asking for a fix.  I just thought that was the way it was.

Any help from someone would be appreciated by me as well.

PS.  I also have a problem when watching football on my system that when the Refs make calls after the play they sound very quiet.  Any help on this?
