The switched to SD mode in the last 90 seconds of the series premiere! Can't think of a better way to ruin someone's concentration...

Nice Job! :bang:

I did notice that the American Express commercials were running in full HD.

Ahhhhhhh. Just noticed this on Criminal Minds. They did the same thing during last week's Threshold premiere. :(

Gentlemen,
We have taken steps to switch to our upcovert just before our news.  CBS changed their show formats in regards to commercials breaks and credits and we're adapting to the new formats.

QuoteTo be ready for that, we have to switch to upconvert before the credits.

It's obvious that this year that plan has to change. CBS is copying ABC and running the programming to seconds before the hour with no commercials before the credits. NBC and FOX are also running some shows to the hour as well.

The national switching on this week's CSI was awful. Just got around to watching it and ugh. 1st commercial break it was flipped while opening song still playing into 4:3 "CSI brought to you by" bit with a nice audio hiccup. Third break flips literally from a not quite finished scene into commercials. Reminded me of the crap with Fox where the commercial audio almost always runs with over the last frames. :( Not the locals' fault, but it was pretty bad.

Thanks for the info Dan.

It helps to hear the inside scoop.
