FOX 6 switching?

I thought fox 6 didn't need to switch to get the HD feed from the network. But if thats the case why is sweet alabama in HD on fox 32 (chicago), and not on fox 6?

Related to that, another thing I've noticed.  On DirectTV, "So You Think You Can Dance" (don't laugh, dammit! :)) is in widescreen on East Coast Fox feed, but 4:3 on WITI.  Now, I'm pretty sure the widescreen feed isn't HD, but why not show the widescreen version locally?

That is weird because I have flipped to it in passing and the last 2-3 times it has been in widescreen for me on WITI.
