I saw an announcement by the NFL that 15 pre-season games will be broadcast in high definition....

http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/8664135

I'm happy about that of course, but a little bit disapointed that only 1 of those games will be a Packers game...

Does anyone know how many NFL regular-season games are broadcast in HDTV?  How many Packers games can I expect to watch in HD?

I have TWC with the HD package, so hopefully if its broadcast in HDTV, I should be able to watch it....

I guess I would like to know, so I can gage how much beer I will need to buy this season for all the people that will be over here to watch the Packers on my new HDTV...

;)

And I bet you can change those 'probables' to 'definites' since they are the late games for CBS that week.

Unless Favre gets hurt and the Packer games end up being three hours of Aaron Rodgers running for his life...

One of our most favorate plays is the last second win in Lambou when Steve Beuerlein went in for the TD at the line! That is a classic! :)

Friendly competition in sports is a good thing!

You can't take ANYTHING away from Farve. That is just stupid. He is a great player. One of the best. You got to respect him, he has earned it. But that doesn't mean you can't beat him. We think we can beat him. And that is why they play the game and we love it so much (not as much as you guys, but............) ;)

To be honest, we have more fun with the Packer games than, say Philly. The Packers go out and play to win (and that is the way it should be). Philly goes out to to kill you (and not in a nice way either). You can't have fun doing that.

We respect the Packers. We hate the Eagles. You can see that difference in the way we play the Packers and the Eagles. We go out to play the Packers, we go to hunt the Eagles. And some of the best visiting fans at Bank of America Stadium (or the BOA as we have started calling it, formally Ericsson Stadium) have been Cheese Heads. Eagles come to town, they bring in more law enforcement. No joke.

Since we are not in the NFC West anymore, we get along better with Rams fans now. It may have something to do with Ricky Proehl being a Panther now, but he is from around here originally. He played college ball at Wake Forest in Winston-Salem. He is literally my neighbor. He lives in the gated community next to my neighborhood and his kids go to my churches day school and his sister used to work at the station as a reporter. When Ricky played for Arizona, there was a TD he made and threw the ball up in the stands to his sister and some guy stole it from her and she wrestled it back and it was all caught on tape. Sports Center ran it mercilessly (and so did we!).  Ricky is a cool guy though. If you didn't know who he was, you would never think he is anyone famous. He has a mobile D* installation in his SUV and his HT is FABULOUS! Man, it must be nice!

GO PANTHERS!!

Man, Eagles fans are the worst.  I'd watch a Packers game in the Black Hole in Oakland before I watched a Packers game in Philly.

What's the definitive word on the game tonight?  Will the game be available in HD on TWC's ESPN HD (530) and WISN's digital (512)?

[EDIT] A litte further hunting tells me that it is HD on ESPN tonight.  So, the real question is will ESPN be passing thru the HD to WISN?

Everything I heard points to HD on ESPN-HD and SD on WISN.  ESPN provides only the SD format to the local channels.

Greg Oman

It was in HD on ESPN HD, however I noticed that the audio was 5.1 only on WISN HD...... Wasn't on ESPN HD according to the little blue light on my receiver.
