Another DVR Question

Hi All,  just switched to E* after spending the last three months with Off-Air Only.  It was a hard choice to make, but they offered me the best deal.  (HD Tuner, and DVR free) free programming(HD, and HBO/SHO), and only $20/mo for three months.

I am brand new to the DVR world.  The one I got free is a 510.  The first thing I noticed was that it was kind of noisy, sounds like a computer CPU with the hard drive sounds.  I put it in the bedroom, so you can see this being a problem.  My question is....IS THIS NORMAL?   Or do I have a bad DVR?

I had HD6000 receiver and it was noisy too.
Now I have HD DVR 942 and it is quiet.
Don't know about your receiver. But I know, that you can put anyware in your house. Dish remotes work through the walls anyway.

DVR's are computers with hard disks!  Of course they sound like that.  It's normal.  Yes, some are quieter than others, but it's a crap shoot to send it back for a quieter one.
