I have a computer problem.  I was surfing the net the other night when I downloaded a program from a website thinking that it would be free of viruses.  It wasn't.  I have AVG free which caught it right away.  I also have Microsoft Anti-spyware.  That came up with an alert "This program is trying to...".  I accidentally clicked Block without reading what it was.  Since then I have lost the internet completly.  What could have happened?

And if I solve the problem I will let you know.

You can right-click on the MS Anti-Spyware icon and select Open Microsoft Anti-Spyware. Then, click the Real-time Protection item and click the View all events link to see what was blocked.

From there, you can hopefully figure out what went wrong or perform a Goolge search to fix the problem.

You can also temporaroly disable the internet agent of the MS Spyware program.  Go to real time protection, then click on Internet Agents.  There are enable and disable buttons there.  You could also try the Applications Agent.  If either one resolves the problem, then look at that catagory.  Also under advandced toolls is a Explorer restore button.  Do you use only Internet Explorer?  Or do you use Netscape or FireFox as well?  You also did not say what type of internet connection you have.  Your network settings may have been altered by that rouge program.  Just a few areas to look.

I would assume your posting here from someone elses computer.  Otherwise you wouldn't be having a problem. :D
