Quote from: Doug MohrThe DVD images he used to set the levels looked identical to me before and after calibration, but once you threw a DVD in, it was a noticeable difference.

I had run the Avia software myself and it was still way off (maybe even worse  :( )

Did you see the DVD Eliab used? I swear I thought it was HD!

Paul S.

Quote from: tothemaxSo there's a dvd used for the calibration? How do I get one so I can try the calibration myself?

Avia or DVE. 20-30 bucks.

DVE version Eliab has is like 300 or so bucks!

So if this is really catsass, how can I get this freak over to my house in Belgium?

Hey Paul, aren't you the guy that was looking for work a while back? I guess you are not anymore, if you're paying for a calibration. I don't think having a calibration is worth the money, but that's just me. I use the Sound & Vision calibration DVD disc and am very happy with it. The Avia disc and Digital Video Essentials disc are very popular also.  My projector only cost me $799 new and a calibration would probably be half that cost, that's ridiculous.

Yeah, but work picked back up in April.

I was seriously considering going downstairs and mapping a network drive to the DVD Drive he was using and burning a copy.

But, Then I figured without the fancy color tool (or the brains to use it), it would be useless to me.
