When something like "Action Sports - Dew Action Sports Tour" playing on NBC now is presented in High Definition on a Saturday afternioon by the network not known for their the HD programming, I think it signals that HD has arrived!!

Good for you, but from the posting, I thought  TWC added a new HD channel like Universal HD or ESPN HD2 (anything like that).

Wake me up when they do...thanks. :D

I think TWC's main priorities should be adding Universal, Cinemax, The Movie Channel, and Starz in HD (and the Starz onDemand and the local WB affiliate would be nice too).

In my opinion there's already plenty of sports in HD spread out thru the existing HD channels (and the 2 channels JUST for sports, granted fox sports HD is barely on the air). I would have no issues with them adding more sports as long as they even it out with other HD channels more to my tastes. :)

Now lets get on the Sci-Fi channel's butt to go HD!! :guns:  :D

As TWC told us, HBO HD is now channel 508 and Showtime HD is now 509.

Your HD box  will be powered off if it was on, like mine were and when you turn it on, your HDTV set will display this and remarkably, these channels, if you have favourites like repeat recordings or series programmes, these migrated to the appropriate channels, too. :D

Additionally, channel 502 for that HD event is off the listing and that lovely HD PPV (useless, IMO) channel TWC added has gone from 503 to 500 where HBO HD was.
NOT additionally: No new HD channel additions due to all of this, unfortunately.

TWC: Thanks for nothing!

With so many HD selections it is hard to remember all the new numbers! :bang:

I wrote them a letter last night about the lack of new HD content and another small issue I have with them... I doubt I'll get a response though; never have in the past when I complained.

Lack of new HD channel offerings, like you pay for it once a month (like the HD package) and its always available, unlike that HD PPV channel, right?

It will be interesting if, sometime this year, TWC actually offers more HD channels, either as standard fare as you get with the digital package (like Discovery HD and TNT-HD) or in the HD package option.

I think cable subs with HD boxes (standard or DVR type) deserve something better than that awful HD PPV offering that we got recently...IMO.

Additionally, I think any of the new HD channels that will be offered will probably be added on a national level, like the last one was (ESPN-HD), as part of a more "uniform" package offering to all TWC regions, like our SE Wisconsin location is, not just a few, so this maybe why it is taking so long with the contracts, etc. for release.

I would at least like to think about it this way (rationally),
although I am still disappointed like so many TWC HD subs are by now. :(

QuoteWe do plan to add HD channels in the near future. We have to come to agreements with the channels, and find line up space.

I did get 3 free months of Cinemax and HBO out of the letter, though I'd rather have Showtime than Cinemax.  Oh well... it's free :)

ESPN 2 HD, Universal HD, and Cinemax HD sure would be nice.

Quote from: Joseph SESPN 2 HD, Universal HD, and Cinemax HD sure would be nice.

TWC will wait until Directv has its new HD nationals* up and some of us will  start migrating to them
(if they allow us to rent their HD DVRs, at least for me)
and then they will do something about it...history will repeat itself.
But by then, we will probably have to sign contacts for Directv's DVR and with that, won't probably care about TWC by then, unless the HD locals are not  in place.
When these are, too, then count me in again, with Directv, since they CAN and did, sign contracts with Sinclair to give me WB HD and UPN HD to get them, unlike TWC's "excuses".
(Even Comcast does Sinclair HD channels, now.)
As far as history repeating itself, I remember not getting the Sci-Fi channel in the mid-90's and then got tired of cable's not caring about it and I added Directv for better selection...hope I don't have to do that, again for HD, or worse, doing both cable and dish...ouch!

*(It will happen, I am certain, eventually, something about a rocket, not Directv's fault, I WILL give them, that, okay, until is it's fall then the "gloves" go back on).

Great selection, Joseph S! :D
