Yes, its that time almost! Eliab will coming here in June.

Eliab is one of the best in the business of home theater calibration. He did my set last year and it was a vast improvement over 'stock'. Not only was his service top notch, but as a person he's just an awesome guy.

All interested parties are required to send a $50.00 non-refundable
deposit via //www.Paypal.com to info@avical.com to secure a slot on the
tour and indicate that the deposit is for the "Avical - Milwaukee
tour." Along with the deposit, you need to include your complete
address, telephone number(s), and associated video gear. The deposit
will be credited towards your calibration. In the event that
unforeseeable circumstances prevent you from participating in the
tour, a refund will be given providing that your slot can be filled.
If not, a credit towards a future tour will be given. Participants will
also divide his traveling expenses for his flight and hotel which usually
runs between $50-75.00 per person.  He's willing, however, to keep
traveling costs to a minimum by foregoing a car rental if participants
are willing to drive him (which works out GREAT).

Here is an explaination of that process:

The first participant of the day picks him up at my hotel and returns him
to their home.  After the first job is done, the second participant of
the day then picks him up at his first client's home and returns him to his
hotel at the completion of your calibration.  The only exceptions would
be the first participant of the tour who would pick him up at the
airport and back to his hotel after your session and the last participant
who would reverse that order.  As for a hotel, he'll be choosing one
that's centrally located to everyone. Like I said, it works out great for saving a few clams.

Spots are still open. Eliab is one of the best calibrators in the country. If you are looking for an awesome calibration NOW IS THE TIME! He also has a new toy to work with-

"I'm also now utilizing the legendary Photo Research PR-650
SpectroRadiometer which is literally the reference tool by which all
other analyzers are judged up against.  The 650 is incredibly accurate
ensuring that the display in question will be adjusted at a level of
precision rarely found in ISF calibrations (besides myself, I only know
of 3 other guys in the country that own one!).  Because of its high
sensitivity to stray light, measures must be taken to darken the room
that the display is located in before my arrival.  This can be achieved
relatively easily by drawing all the blinds, pulling the curtains, and
closing any doors that let light into the room.  Other effective
methods include cutting cardboard cut-outs or thumbtacking dark sheets
over the windows."

From Eliab-

Hello all,

My upcoming Milwaukee tour is nearly booked but there still is time to
have a slot reserved to have me calibrate your display.  This service
will not only make it possible for you to view material on your display
with all the vividness and realism that their director's intended them
to be enjoyed in but will also extend it's life as most TVs are set
outside of their linear operating range.  This will also be my only
tour of the Milwaukee region this year and I won't be returning until
the summer of 2006!

Below are the available dates and time slots

1.  Tuesday, June 14th at 12:00 PM - BOOKED
2.  Tuesday, June 14th at 5:00 PM - BOOKED
3.  Wednesday, June 15th at 9:00 AM - BOOKED

Too bad this couldn't have happened a month later. I'm moving to Pewaukee around the first of July and I'm sure my Mits 65908  will be out of wack after boucing around in the back of a mover's truck. I guess I'll have to settle for a local calibration after I get it moved.
