As one of their production trucks goes through the ice on Big Muskego lake.

I would hate to be the one to have to make that call back to the office.

Local Media seems to be having fun with this one. Would be a great time to upgrade to a HD truck with the insurance money... If they had the '94 Econoline van insured...

I some how doubt Jim or Dan will be commenting on this thread.

Fortunately no one was hurt.

I love the quote in the JS:

A special company has been called to help pull the truck from the ice, but that could take two days, Mesich said. Mesich said that the crew was shooting "something ice-related."

The danger of thin ice, maybe?

All the other locals are covering it, and on air are doing their best to be fair. But I gotta think they're laughing off-camera. :)

So, I'd say its pretty safe to assume this van is a loss... How much does your typical live truck go for these days?

bschmidt25

I happen to be in Oklahoma City this week and they just showed a clip of the van in the lake on KFOR's 10 o' clock news.  I guess word travels fast!

A new truck will cost anywhere from $140K - $300K.  It all depends on what you put in it.  I know the mast is around $12K.

$250K, ouch. At least the antenna is still good.

Well, at least they have a sense of humor about it.  They've turned it into a PSA about ice safety.
