Question about 720p sources and the TWC guide

Does anyone else have a problem viewing the TWC guide while watching a 720p channel?  If I go into the guide on any of these channels (Fox, ESPN, ABC) my screen gets filled with random colors and the box either freezes and reboots itself or I have to reboot it myself.  It usually happens right when I go into the guide or once I start moving around.  I'm have a Pioneer 3510 box and it's hooked up to the TV using the DVI port, but I also saw this problem when using the component jacks.  I'd say this happens about 75% of the time when watching these channels.

I had the exact same problem with the pioneer box earlier, but it seemed no one else had that problem:

I don't think its a firmware bug, since it doesn't seem to affect all people with the pioneer box (and I assume that all boxes are upgraded to the same firmware version)...

You can try swapping out the box, but I tried that 3 times in a row and got a bad box each time...

Perhaps you picked up one of those boxes I traded in, heh...

Finally I just upgraded to the new 8300 HD DVR and havent had a problem since.....

This is a long shot, but have you tried resetting your remote? Instructions are in the small manual that came with unit. After doing that I would re-boot the box.

How is your box configured?  I would configure the box to output the native resolution of the TV and disable all other resolutions.  Then the cable box does not change resolutions when switching channels.  I did this a while back and it makes channel switching a lot faster and I have not had the box crash ever since.

It's a bug on the Pioneer 3510HD.  If you are displaying a native 720p image and hit 'guide', it usually locks up.  The banner works ok while surfing, but getting into the full-blown guide blows it up.  Just go with 1080i or exchange your box for another type.
