Does anyone know if TWC cable cards are bidirectional yet?

kevbeck122

Not that I know of... I don't think bi-directional cards are available anywhere yet.  I read somewhere that the earliest we'd see something like that is in 2006.

Even it the cards were out, I don't think any products are out there in the market that support the new standard.  Maybe Greg can fill us in later with the lateest.

There are no 2-way cards YET!  The standard hasn't even been agreed upon for the specs and don't expect to have that resolved until the 4th quarter of 2005.  So don't hold your breath yet, as it won't be until late in 2006 that the Bi-directional cards will hit the streets.  This is one reason Toshiba and Sharp and maybe others have the TVGuide on Screen in their integrated units to download the guide either from OTA or Cable.

Actually - Good question...

Will 2-way cards be able to work in the current TV's with cable-card slots?

Last I read they are not compatible.
