Which antenna for Hartland Area?

I have a friend who lives in Bristlecone pines in Hartland (going west on I94 and going north on 16).

I am not sure how far it is from the towers.

For HDTV reception, which antenna should he use for attic mount? Since this is quite a bit north west of brookfield, reception would not be easy.

Yes, I did go to antennaweb.org. How ever, I am looking for feed back from people who are from that area and who have been successful with reception.

Also, if anyone knows of an antenna installer, please post or send a private message.

Thank  you.

Capitol Drive HD Tower Farm is 22 miles East of the Hartland site/Home...

All MKE Digital Stations are Chan 8 or above...    Good..

A Channel Master UHF 3021 4 bay bow tie covers up to

40 miles well....   and can do 60 mi in the clear, Full Power reception.

3021 channel range runs from Chan 7 thru Chan 59..

THis 'nice' $25 antenna can work well both indoor (attic) &

outdoor using RG-6 dual shielded cable,  IF home has

both no metalic roofing nor metalic wall impediments.....

IF you need more reception power....   move up to the

4021 Channel Master 8 bay bow tie antenna.......

Twice as wide....    About twice the cost...

My question to other HD Group members:

Is there an antenna that reaches from Madison to Wisc. Rapids
with the intention of getting FOX-HD from Madison ??

Sorry,   CM 8 bay bow tie error...

Channel Master UHF 8 bay bow tie is CM Model 4228....

A follow up question for the Channel Master UHF 3021 4 bay antenna.  I live in Oconomowoc and this is the model that I was told to get.  Where can I buy this antenna?  Radio Shack in Oconomowoc was absolutely no help.  Unfortunately, they had no clue what I was talking about, or what antenna to buy, their "experienced" employee pointed to the ceiling where the huge channel master antenna's hung.  He didn't know about the 3021 model.  Anyone have some good hints on where to buy?  I would appreciate it.

Actually, you can buy it locally and avoid shipping costs, which are much more than taxes for antennas. I am going to pick up Channel Master 4228 and Channel Master preamp 7777 for total $85 before taxes at Marmax, 6802 Rawson Ave, Franklin, WI. At Internet these items I found at solidsignal.com (good site for antennas info and installation instructions, has compete 45 pages user's guige) for $115. For location closer to you check channelmaster.com and click distibutors link, then select Wisconsin.

miramax is a very nice company. The only thing is that they don't have returns but they are very nice people and prices are very good. I got my 4228 from them.

The installer was suggesting a different directional antenna but did not give me the model number. I will post it, once I get the info from him.

also got my 4228  from Marmax - especially once you see how non-shipping freindly this product is- buying it locally just makes sense. Would strongly suggest this for your job if you are going to do a attic mount ( do outdoor mast if at all possible) - attic mounting costs you a whole lot of gain and inroduces a bunch of other problems ( near field multipath, etc.) . I'm at less than half the rrange you are dealing with and had to go to a 4228 because of attic mount ( I rent).

I have a friend who lives only one mile east of there on hwy K and he can get all the local HD chanels using just an indoor "Silver Sensor" antenna. If it works fine for him I would think that almost any HD antenna would work for you.

Installed today my 4248 with preamp Titan 7777 in the attic. Installation was so easy compared to that huge RS yagi I used before Voom. RS did not get Fox6. Now Voom is gone and I decided to try 4248.
Results are just amazing, I got all Milwaukee locals.
Then tried to get Chicago (72 miles according to antennaweb.org from my house). Got almost all of them.  Watched a litle bit Sox in HD (just a little bit :D ). Moreover almost all Milwaukee chanells, even Fox6 were fine too at that angle. Only one "NO SHOW" - Cbs58. This chanell is a must to have for us, so rotated antenna back for now. I think that in July, when all station should go full power, I will turn it back to Chicago.
Did not try Madison (also 72 miles), because it will lead to rotator which I don't want use.
This antenna is the one to get. Don't forget it is in the attic. So my house will look better after removing Voom Winegard antenna from the roof.

I found a very good person to do this work. He installed a Wineguard hd 7084 at the home in hartland and it works very well. I have the channel master 4228 (8 bay bow tie) which is very highly rated but I think this Wineguard hd 7084 is better (based on the signal strength and the distance to hartland Vs my Mequon home).

If any of you are looking for someone who would do the work, I would recommend him very highly.  You can send me a PM.
