Earlier today we were able to verify an intermittent issue with HDNet at our main facility.  It may or may not be the reason for the reports in this thread, but IMO it's a good bet the issues are related.
We spent most of the day troubleshooting, but found no smoking gun.  It didn't help when the HDNet uplink told us that they have had reports of similar issues from other locations...
Anyway, we did replace some equipment and have been monitoring the feed for just over an hour now.   So far we have not observed any further problems.  I wish I could announce that we definitely got it fixed, but the problem is so intermittent , it is hard to guarantee results at this time.
Problems with iNHD reported here have not been duplicated at our facility.

The groups' feedback on this is welcomed.

And yes, you should still dump those RS amilifiers!

Thank you for your assistance and TWC's work also.

We will report any more HD Package Channel peculiarities if these show up again. :D

I'll check tonight when I get home to see if it still is happening... thanks for looking into it.

As for the RS amp... it wasn't my choice.. my dad just bought it after hearing about someone else's cable setup.  I don't know why he chose RS, but I guess he just wanted to get everything done right away at the time (new RG6 cabling in the house and the central connection point on a wall in the basement).  It did seem to help analogs a bit after installed though.  I'll see what TWC says and have them put a new one in if necessary.

For the last week in Grafton we've been having problems with InHD.  Last night there was no picture at all, earlier in the day it kept breaking up.

InHD is watchable at my house, but it still blocks up for a few seconds every 5-10 minutes.

Thanks for the input.  I'll have iNHD checked on this end too.
Meanwhile, check locally for bad or loose F fittings.  iNHD rides on a carrier in the same band as WDJT-DT.  It's possible a local leak could be messing up the signal in a very small area, or just one drop to your home.

Meanwhile, HDNet looked fine all afternoon here at the office... it's been 4 or 5 hours now without any glitch.

Still no issues out here in Pewaukee. I have switching back and fourth to help you guys out, but it has never happened while I was watching. Maybe just bad timing for me.

Picture froze watching "Dog Day Afternoon" for a few seconds this afternoon. I didn't watch the whole thing - too busy.

I get occasional blips with INHD, last night there were blips with CBS too. Discovery HD is completely screwed up and not viewable or recordable through my D-VHS.

When INHD is on the fritz, like during the Oscar weekend, it is a pixelated/green mess. Not at that point, presently but I did get a few blips on the game Monday on INHD. Of course, those blips were in addition to INHD and ESPNHD completely screwing viewers out of the opening ceremonies they both later described as "breathtaking" yet failed to broadcast.

I know the HDNet problem isn't occurring "everywhere" and here's how... As you guys know I record Nothing But Trailers everytime it's on. As you may or may not know, everytime it's on, it's a random collection of trailers in random order. A recording from last weekend on my DVR had loads of glitches... then I managed to get that exact same showing on my computer in .ts format from a friend who is able to capture this stuff (I don't know where he lives, sorry) and it didn't have one glitch. So, this may be happening in more than one place, but it's not everywhere.

So far so good... been watching HDNet movies for about 45 minutes and no problems :)

edit.. Just had a few freeze ups about 5 minutes ago.

2:41am, HDNet Movies froze up for about 6 seconds (watching the live feed, not recorded, not 'buffered').

Thanks for the info.  Will spend more time on it today.

Reset your HDNet tiling clocks.  Becuase the problem was happening fairly regularly this morning between 8am & 9:30am, the guys were able to better analyze & troubleshoot the problem and made some changes.  They were on the right track yesterday, but the lack tiling episodes made it diffucult to really nail the problem down.  All has looked good since 10am.

Awesome, I'll check it out later. One thing I noticed... in the trailer show, it would always like to have glitches during the same exact trailers! Now mind you, I've got these trailers glitchless ripped from a friend, so I know it's not just how they are. For example during the trailer for Zathura, the sound ALWAYS cuts out at a part where all these meteors are flying thru the house... it's done it three different times now all at about the same spot. Does it have something to do with increasing bitrate or... well forget that, I don't know what I'm talking about, just an observation.  :)
