Yes the HD games are included in the Mega March madness package.

Yes, the D* package has all the HD games - unless the local CBS-58 broadcast the game in SD - then D* blacks out the HD feed... Which is why I was hoping our local affiliate would show the games in HD when they were supposed to - which would allow the D* subscribers to get all the games in HD, instead of a portion of them...

Quote from: audiopileNothing is more valuable than spectrum. The broadcasters have incredibly enough been GIVEN it. Living proof that buying the best available l"political relations" really, really works.
I am also in awe of the quality of the HD signal - but truly don't expect it to be routinly available for very long via OTA. It's just too cheap for the broadcasters to add SD channels and the add revenue is soo sweet. We will probably see the OTA-DTV  channels jammed with the same kind of stunningly low quality crap that clogs the cable channels now.
Given that SD is reality - give very close consideration to a HD display's ability to up-convert 480i (SD) signals - this is oftentimes a signifigant extra cost feature on a display - but is certainly real world worth it. Most importtantly - find a dealer who actually has the set hooked up and can feed it a 480i signal before you judge - no single spec is going to tell you which upconverters are better/best - but your eyes won't lie to you. Be reasonable about this and call ahead to see if a dealer is willing to accomidate this request.

Hopefully your vision of the future is entirely wrong.

This is my inaugural post.  Glad to be here!

This multicasting stuff is rediculous.  Half of the time it's the same game on both channels.  CBS 58 should realize that most people who are watching a digital channel would like to see the game in HD.  I had the privelege of watching a full days worth of coverage in HD yesterday because I was in Madison.  WISC (3-1) is broadcasting the games in HD.  So everyone turn your antenna to the west and enjoy!  ;)

I just sent this message to CBS 58's Program Manager (I guess).  We'll see if I get any response...

I'm sure I'm not the only person who has griped about the NCAA tournament not being broadcasted in HD.  I' m not sure I get the reasoning behind providing multicasting.  It seems every time I watch one of the multicast channels, it is broadcasting the same feed as 58-1.  The vast majority of people who are capable of receiving digital channels are watching them on HDTVs.  I was able to watch UW-Milwaukee in HD in Madison yesterday, but it was not available in Milwaukee - go figure!  I hope now that UWM is in the Sweet 16 for the first time in history, you will make this event more enjoyable by providing the Milwaukee area with CBS' HD feed.

Thank you for your attention!
