Just started watching Committed tonight... and it's not in HD. I also noticed that a recent episode of Medical Investigation wasn't in HD. What gives?

PatM

I also noticed that committed was in SD.
Glad to see it wasn't my box causing the problem.

The master control operator didn't write up any problem in his operations report. I'll check with him Wednesday evening to find out what happened.

If it happens again, please give me a call on the tipline (414) 963-4444.

Thanks! Will do.

I've talked with the engineer in master control. He assumed "Committed" was in SD just like all three episodes of "Will & Grace" just before "Committed."

So he never programmed the computer to switch to HD.

Of course we should have checked the official programming log.

Another thing he might want to note then... all the new episodes of Will & Grace are now in HD. (Most repeats are SD.)

I have taken any channel 504 (HD NBC) programming to be recorded on my DVRs and made them channel 4 due to drop outs, pixelations and audio failures
 - only on this channel, so far...started earlier this week.  :(
Channel 4 comes through digitally through the setup box, though not HD but with with DD2.0 sound, so it is much better than say, Sci-Fi channel 55
- but this is a nuisance, indeed. :(

Anyone have any problems with 504 - it just occurs on this channel, at least for now...thanks!

Looks like Law & Order isn't HD tonight unless it's just because it's a repeat?  TitanTV says it should be HD though.

Something else I noticed, the late night replays of Leno are never shown in HD, even though the NBC schedule says that they are, in fact, HD. Nobody at the switchboard that late?

By the way, the NBC schedule says that tonight's Law & Order should be in HD.

NBC had weather problems at the New York uplink tonight.
The SD feed had to switch to the Burbank uplink...but there is no backup HD uplink in Burbank.

The late night Leno replays are SD.. but nbc.com list it as HD... I'll see if we can find some one at nbc.com to fix that.
It would be nice if they would do the replays in HD, but they don't.

That must explain West Wing's numerous picture problems yesterday then. Thanks for the info.

Just noticed Joey wasn't in HD tonite.. I guess they were watching the Panther game :( (at least the badgers still have a chance) and forgot to flip the switch.  I recorded it and it was SD only

The way I have been getting NBC HD lately, I have decided to record only the SD digital version only for now, at least-and it stays in widescreen and DD2.0....I don't know if it's my 8000HD box or just NBC messing up (like usual), but the audio dropouts and poor switching is bad for such a network...I would expect it from UPN or the like...not NBC.

Started watching The Office tonight (recorded) on my 8300HD... a few audio dropouts at the opening but that's all I've noticed so far.

Another problem that I've always noticed, and only with NBC - There seems to be consistent "speckling" in the picture... almost like analog noise or interference, but that's impossible, right? What's that all about? You guys running DVI cable a bit too far over there at the station?  :p

I watched The Office too tonight... weird show.  Anyways, the NBC shows look great to me.  I haven't had any problems with picture.
