i need some help with my sony 50we610.   :blush:

don't have cable nor dish...  

i want to be able to recieve digital HD broadcast where ever avaliable...   :cool:

what would i need and how should it be setup???   :confused:

Your TV does not have an internal HD tuner.

To receive HD broadcast, you will either need to subscribe to HD Cable or HD Satellite or get an external HD tuner and put up an antenna for the local over the air HD broadcast.

Where did you buy the TV? They should be able to help you get set up.

I you want to get the least expensive solution get OTA and therefore, an digital outboard tuner and antenna.  
You don't post your location, so the OTA forum folks will need it to advise you.
As for sets like these, welcome, indeed, to the LCD RPTV group! :wave:

Once you decide what you want to do to get HD reception, you will have to get a decent set of component-video cables for HD input to your LCD Wega, not necessarily monster cables, just ones with some shielding-see forum threads.

might just get OTA tuner and see how that goes.  i'm in the greenfield area near greefield high school.  hope i get good signals.

my place is setup to watch movies like a theatre.     damn i spent tooooooo much on monster cables but i feel it's worth it.   :p

what's the most cost effective HD tuner for the performance???  thinking about Samsung SIR-T451.  what do you guys think???   :confused:

I spent over $300 for cables when I first bought my set, thanks to the pushers at BB. Had I known then what I know now, I could've used that money for a decent DVD player.

Sorry I can't help you out. I don't think a lot of people use an external tuner, so you might not find anyone on this board that has used this tuner. Most people have cable or sat and an external tuner is not required.

I've used the 451, it's not a bad tuner (but it's HDCP, so make sure your display supports if if you're going to use the digital path) .  If you can find a newer LG box for a not too much more, their new tuner is much better with multipath.  I've used a 451, a 651, an MDR-200 and now an LG-3410, and the LG is the best of them (And their newer one is even better than the one I have) but I'd put the Samsungs 2nd, so it's a good choice if it's cheap (I've seen open-box ones at BB for $99).
