Ok after fighting an uphill battle to get Comcast Sports Net on TWC in order to see Cubs and White Sox games in SE Wisconsin.  It appears it ain't going to happen soon.  Now I am going to switch to satellite.  Anyone have thoughts I would appreciate it

Who is better?

Do they carry the local channels in HD, similar to TWC?

Can you record an HD channel on a regular DVR?  I assume that it would not replay in HDTV, but can you actually record it

Trying to get Comcast on TWC is like trying to get Directv to put a TWC-specific channel on its system...forget it.
Face it, we both live in Kenosha...not Chicagoland... please get over it! :OnAir:

Kenosha is Chicagoland :guns:

Wrong, for the same reason you cannot get locals stations from Chicago stations from Directv and Dishnetwork you will never get Comcast products...again, you have Time Warner Cable, not Comcast!!
DMAs are regulated by the federal government, not you.
DMA= Designated Market Area. :D
We in Kenosha cannot get HD locals from Chicago stations, only analogue locals on basic cable because these were grandfathered in. :OnAir:

Actually, in Kenosha TWC delivers major Chicago locals.
And of course you can get OTA almost all Chicago HD.
Comcast is not OTA.
I think D* carries it. E* promised to start it before April 1. But it will not be in HD yet.
V* will be adding local sports channels too. And if it will add it be HD, like Florida local sports channels
And VOOM lives, just check //www.voom.com.

I get the Chicago ANALOGUE locals, most of them, though no longer WPWR channel UPN50 since it was discontinued a few years ago-reason being that TWC is not required to carry them since they are out of our DMA - The rest are just like I wrote, "grandfathered" in.
Wait until TWC starts dumping some of them for more HD channels (or more SD digital ones).

FYI: AndrewP, we are discussing CABLE delivery, not OTA.  :D

Fiberoptic,

If you want Cubs & Sox baseball, you will have to buy the MLB extra Innings package.  Kenosha zip codes are not in the Cubs & Sox territories, so the only way to get  games on CSN-C is that way.  You won't get the HD games.

Satellite does not carry locals in HD, so if you want to those, you'll need to keep your cable active.  E* does allow you to buy just a sports package without buying one of the programming packages, D* doesn't allow you to do that.  But, if you are going to buy a programming package, D* has the better sports coverage.

Send me a PM, I may have another option for you.
