When will TNT-HD come to DirectTv?

This has probably been asked already, but will TNT-HD ever come to DirectTV?

I don't really care about the shows, but would like to see the NBA playoffs in HD starting next month.  Do I have ANY shot of this happening?

What is the holdup on this one?

The real question is when will TNT HD be available ANYWHERE!  Unless you are a basketball nut, it's a waste because almost everything else is in stretch-mode.  Same goes for most of the programming on ESPN-HD.  If they didn't carry Sunday Night NFL & produce Sports Center in HD, it would be a TOTAL loss.  What a farce!

I have TNT HD on E* and both E* and Comcast here do not stretch the non-HD programming on ESPN-HD, we have the gray bars on the side.  Sounds like your provider is the one who's stretching the programming.

It appears that TNT-HD stretches shows that were originally 4:3.  I have seen widescreen (but unstretched) programming on TNT-HD, too.  My ESPN-HD is fine--no stretching at all on any show/event that I've seen.  (I have TWC in Green Bay.)

I didn't communicate that quite right.  I meant ESPN-HD is not HD in most cases, ala TNT is stretched in most cases.  Granted, ESPN has the 'HD" sidebar... but it's still not HD programming.

A lot of TNT-HD programming is "upconverted" crap,  not HD.  I had it with Dish Network before I cancelled the HD package.

There are some nice things on TNT HD, but a lot of things they do not do quite right.

Some programs are stretched to make it "fit".  I have distinctly noticed that on other programs they take the "full frame" picture from regular TNT and cut off the top and bottom to make it "fit".  I know it sounds weird, but I know that I have seen them do this...

Outside of the NBA which is always HD and very well done, pretty much everything is stretched way out of whack that I don't bother ever watching to find the rare HD movie. It's pretty embarassing too. They toss in the 4:3 DVD instead of at least upconverting widescreen.

How about ESPN2 HD? They're showing Sox v Yankees MLB opener in HD. I want that ASAP. :D
