Quote from: tazmanI wonder if we will get the syndicated reruns in HD once UPN24 goes HD.  Since this is Enterprises last season. :(

That would depend on who buys the syndication rights...it may not be us.
And if they have the equipment to record and re-broadcast HD content. Most stations only do pass-thru from the network.

Thanks again for doing this for us.  No 5.1 sound last night, but it still beats the the SD version by a mile.

Huh... I turned on ST:E last Friday and it was in SD. I gave it about 5 minutes and then I went to something else (because I'm behind on E due to Tivo backlog and was only going to watch the new episode if it was in HD).

Did it eventually get switched to HD?

What station were you watching? 24-1 or 18-2?
24-1 was SD & 18-2 was HD.

Maybe your set top box didn't show 18-2?  Mine shows these changes without a re-scan.  If yours requires a re-scan, do that before Enterprise.

Ahhh... thanks guys. I bet I was watching 24-1. My ole Panasonic piece of junk is a pain in the arse, so I normally just punch in the digital channel (in this case 25) and then let it map. I haven't done a rescan in forever, cause it usually seems to mess something up. I'll try it before next Friday though.

Hi Jimboy,

I have a question.  I don't keep up on what company own's what station, so forgive my ignorance.   But anyways what is the relationship between 18 and 24 that allows you to multi-cast the UPN feed on a WB station.   Again thanks again for another HD broacast of Enterprise. :D

18 and 24 are both owned by Sinclair and the studio facilities are co-located in the same building on 35th street. The digital encoding equipment of both stations are inches from each other, and with two SD encoders and one HD encoder a multicast is simple. This is a brief experiment in multicasting which will end when Star Trek is done, or when the HD encoder for 24 shows up at the back door, or when I'm told to knock it off.

Chuckle Chuckle,  I know what you mean.  Thank you for the explanation. :D

For those who recorded 18-2 on Mits DVHS...I forgot that Mits records all subchannels  and requires you to choose the correct playback using the Guide button.  Pretty frustrating until I remembered.  Hope you were smarter than me! :bang:

I tried numerous times last friday 2/18 between 3pm and 10pm to get Star Trek Enterprise on 18-2 and just kept getting the "searching for antenna....." message. This is a HD TiVo unit. What am I missing?? I get 18-1 and 24-1 just fine. The 18-2 listing does not appear on my channel guide, I've just been typing it in directly. Any thoughts anyone???

Thanks,

Jim
