Important Update - Last Time in HD on 24-2 & 18-2 (for now)

Star Trek: Enterprise will air in HD on 18-2 & 24-2 on Friday 5/27 at 7pm.

Friday, May 27, 8PM ET/PT

"These Are the Voyages..." 8PM ET/PT

Six years in the future, an emotional Captain Archer and the crew return to Earth to face the decommission of Enterprise and signing of the Federation charter, ratifying the newly-formed alliance of planets they helped forge, but first the officers must mount a daring, dangerous rescue to save Andorian Commander Shran's kidnapped daughter. "Star Trek: The Next Generation's" Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis guest star.

Friday, May 27, 9PM ET/PT

"Daedelus"

Emory Erickson, the inventor of the transporter device, boards the Enterprise to test new transporter upgrades, but his true motive is to search for his lost son.

For anyone with Channel 61 (18-1 or 18-2) reception problems a duplicate feed will be available on 24-2. Rescan if you need to.
18-2 programming will begin around 3pm and end at 10pm. 24-2 programming will begin at 6:30pm and end at 10pm (On Friday Only)

Hint!
If you don't see 18-2 you may need to re-scan channel 61 or do an auto-scan. But do this when 18-2 is active - Friday's 3pm till 10pm. Same procedure for 24-2 (channel 25) as well.

Confirmed with UPN...Enterprise is stereo only.

BTW - no local commercials so you will need to flip to 24-1 to see them. This is mandatory - ha ha.

That's great news ! Thanks for the heads up !

That is the best news I have heard all day.  Thanks!!!!

Great Idea.  keep it going this way until both UPN and WB have seperate hardware for HD.

The picture looks a little milky to me, is that how it's shot?

Other than that, the details are really nice, if a bit unflattering to some of the actors.

Is this a one-time deal?  Maybe a prelude to having 24's HD equipment up and running?

Too bad you couln't simulcast the Super Bowl in HD (even if we would have missed the local ads).

hmm doesn't look too bad on my side..  if you are missing something maybe it's because 18 right now is multicasting 18-1 in SD I think that may reduce the bandwidth available... looks good though.  I'd rather have this then SD Widescreen... which totally blows on 16x9 tv.

I'm not adding any milk to the picture...fresh out.   :drink:
Still missing key componants to get 24's HD up & going so this is the best I can do at the current time. We will try to do this every Friday.

Thanks for the update, Jim.

I think this is a great idea.  I haven't  been following this show since the first few episodes, but seeing it in HD might have hooked me in as a regular viewer.

Although I'm not sure why blind telepaths would need to communicate via holographs. But the space battles sure look great!

Thanks that sure sounds good to me.  :-)

That would be fantastic!  I think this show is shot on video instead of film.  Maybe that's why someone felt it was "milky".  I thought it looked great.  I do agree with Scott that the HD video is a bit unflattering to some of the actors.

Thanks again for letting us experience the HD feed!

Thanks for the treat...  Now that you have spoiled me, can I expect this next week?

As far as the milky appearance...  and this may not be relevant, but I had read some time back on the Star Trek Enterprise web site, that when they shot the episodes in HD they tried to make it not have the appearance of being recorded on video tape and to have it look more like a show that was done on actual film.  Whether that contributes to the effect you mention seeing, I don't know.  I'm just so happy to see it in HD finally. :D

I wonder if we will get the syndicated reruns in HD once UPN24 goes HD.  Since this is Enterprises last season. :(

Another Star Trek series coming to an end.  Oh the humanity.  :'(  Why, why WHY?!?  (blubber blubber sniffle sniffle).
This series could have done so much leading up to TOS.

Oh No!  I missed it!   :Smash:  Now I have a pressing reason to get the Dish 921 HD recorder with OTA capability.  I keep putting it off waiting on that one show that makes it necessary to record in HD!

Yeah, it's too bad there are only a few shows left.  It was finally getting worth watching.  They did it to themselves 2 seasons ago with the really bad season.  Then they lost more people last year with the mega series.  I still don't like the "to be continued" kind of stuff they have this season, but it beats much of the other stuff on TV!

DOH! I have GOT to check this forum more often.  I just saw this today :(.  Next Friday I will sooooo be there. Hopefully that was the first of many, even in reruns/syndication.  Meanwhile, it doesn't look like there is any signal on 18-2 right now.  Even though Enterprise is the show I'm most interested in, are  there other UPN shows in HD we can look for on 18-2 too (sounds funny if you say this sentence out loud :) ?
