local channels in HD on TWC?

I just got my HDTV a couple of weeks ago and I just found this forum the other day, so please bear with me if this has been asked before or if I seem newbie-ish etc...

At this time, I am a TWC cable subscriber with the HD package, and their Pioneer HD set top box (which has some problems, which I will post about in the equipment forum)

Anyhow, what I wanted to ask was am I getting all the local channels in HD that I could be getting? Or could I potentially get more HD content if I go out and pick up a HD antenna and tuner?

It seems that currently TWC carries NBC (504), CBS (505), PBTV (510), and ABC (512) in HD....

But what about WB-18 and UPN-24??

My understanding is that WB-18 is currently broadcast in Milwaukee in HD over the air...   Is this correct???  If so, does anyone know approximately when TWC will carry WB-18 in HD, if ever???

Also, I understand that while UPN does have some HD content, the local affiliate here (24) doesnt have HD broadcasting capability yet...  Is this correct???  If so, does anyone know approximately when UPN will be broadcasting in HD in Milwaukee, or when TWC will carry UPN in HD???

Someone told me that there are more public television HD channels in Milwaukee and that TWC only carries one of those channels... Is this correct???

I guess what I am trying to figure out is, if it is worthwhile for me to go and get an antenna/tuner in the hopes of capturing some more of Milwaukee's HD content, or if this is just a waste of time/money and I should just wait for a little while because soon TWC will carry all these channels....  My impression of TWC is that they are always 2 or 3 years behind everyone else, and perhaps I shouldnt hold my breath waiting for them to deliver WB-18 or other channels to me in HD.....

As far as I know, they aren't even broadcasting pay-per-view movies in HD yet.... Anyone have any idea when that is going to happen??

Yes, 18 is in HD and 24 will be soon if not already, but TWC does not carry them in HD yet. It is a contract issue. They will have them someday, I'm sure. I don't think it is any time very soon.

You can get an antenna/tuner. It is up to you if the programming on those two channels alone is worth the effort and cost.

Welcome to the board, great place to hangout!
Pretty much all you gonna get for a while as far as local channels are those. There have been some rumors that  WB-18 will come to TWC, but when I asked a rep he didn't hear anything like that, so who knows.
Not sure about the pay-perview since I have no interest, but you can get HBO and Showtime in HD.  Don't sell TWC too short, I think other then FoxSports HD, they have done a pretty good job on their HD. I really enjoy the HD packege, INHD 1 &2 are great channels, and having ESPN HD and Discovery Channel real round out a pretty good lineup.  Only thing that worry me, is or will TWC keep up with Direct and Zoom?  Only time will tell.

You don't realize that Sinclair Broadcast Group wants TWC to pay for its HD channel carriage instead of free like the other stations do (assumption).
Until contracts get negotiated like recent Comcast Cable areas did recently with their Sinclair carriage, TWC subs will never get the HD channels in the mix of HD stations on cable. OTA works fine for some the forum members, then again, they don't do cable, either...you might want to try that. :)
