If I purchase and install an ATI HDTV Wonder card in my Media Center 2005 PC, and use a Zenith Silver Sensor/Gemini ZHDTV1 Antenna, will I be able to pick up the local HDTV broadcasts (assuming adequate signal strength in Grafton).

The reason I ask this is, the Zenith web site says the the antenna only picks up UHF channels and will not pick up channels 1-13 (VHF).  Are the local station (4, 6, 10, 12) HDTV broadcasts in UHF or VHF?

Thanks for the education on this.

Any indoor antenna will be marginal on some signals, especially the low power DTV stations.  However some persons have had excellent results with this antenna.  All DTV stations with the exception of channel 10's digital (which is on 8) are in the UHF spectrum at this time.  However even with that antenna and 8's strong signal you shouldn't have a problem.

BTW all the channel assignments for local Digitals are shown on the main page of our website.  http://www.milwaukeehdtv.org

Gregg,

Thanks.  Had I read the FAQ, I would have found out that the HDTV signals were UHF.  However, it was also good to hear about the Zenith/Gemini antenna results.  I live in an apartment complex so I can't mount an outdoor antenna.

If anyone else has experience with this antenna, I'd like hear about it.

Thanks.

I use the Silver Sensor, but I am lucky enough to live in an area where I get all stations quite easily.  Originally I tried plain-ol' rabbit ears and could get all Milwaukee DTV chans but 6-1.  Tried the Silver Sensor and with some tweaking of direction (being on the south side I aim North/Northeast) and now get everything (yes, including PBS on VHF chan 8) perfectly.  Never have had to touch it since then.

cjucoder,

Thanks.  More good reports.  That's a good thing.
