This is kind of a strange questions..  Some of you may think I am nuts.  Well here is the question...  I just switched my TV from a Samsung 30" Wide screen to a 32" Sony 4x3 in my living room.  I've noticed since the change my Sony sucks dust on the screen with in a day.  They Samsung could go between our once a week dusting and not really see a problem.  What's up with the Sony.  It's creating much more static that the Samsund was?  Anyone know why this is?

Thanks.

I think they got together with Monster to promote their Screen Cleaner.

could be.  it's unreal how fast that thing get dusty.  if I didn't know any better I would say I live in a dirty house.  never have had a TV like this before.  it's crazy!!

I just picked up a new Sony 30-XS955 tv this weekend and found myself after one day wiping the dust off the screen and thinking that "this thing really collects dust....."  Maybe I just want to keep the think looking perfect.  It is a great TV for a small living room though.

I really think it is a Sony thing.?.  I know this is the third TV we have had in our living room and we never had issue like this before.  I know it sounds like a strange issue but it's kinda of a pain.

If it's still possible, I would return the Sony and get a different manufacturer's TV.

What made you decide to switch from 16:9 back to 4:3?

PWFD81

My wife didn't like the 16:9 in the living room.  We don't have HD up stairs only in the basement.  Big 16:9 for our theater room.  So we went with a Sony with the stick reader in the front.  Got the Samsung for sale on this site if anyone is interensted?..

Might the answer be that Sony HD has a De-Gaussing feature

and the Samsung HD does not or the Samsung HDTV

 uses the De-Gausser less often?

I think it is because Sony is so "ATTRACTIVE"

Gee...  I'm thinkin I might just get one of those and put wheels on it and a long extension cord, that would motivate the wife to dust the house more often.  She could wheel that around and still watch TV...  Or maybe put a little flat panel LCD display on the vacuum cleaner head.  Darn good thing she doesn't read this forum.

I think the SONY CRT's are notorious for generating alot of static.  I know I constantly get ZAPPED by my SONY 20" computer monitor at work when ever I put my hand near it. :Smash:
