With the help of satellite technology provided by Scientific-Atlanta the Outdoor Channel (TOC) 2 started testing its broadcast HD signal on Dec. 29. PanAmSat is providing its Galaxy 10R satellite to broadcast the HD signal.

Scientific-Atlanta encodes the 1080i HD video with its transmission over 270 Mb fiber optic cable to the TOC uplink. The transmission network provider's PowerVu digital content distribution system will be used to deliver feeds for TOC programming in SD to both the east and west coasts.

When it launches it HD channel in June TOC will feature high-def broadcasts of "Discovering America's National Parks," "Cowboys" and "World Class Sportfishing."

Gregg,
I can confrim that the channel is up and testing, been checking it out for the past week.  They did turn off the old anolog signal on tp 24 for c-band dish owners.  Their DVB signal is ITC but still on a c-band transponder, wish they would move to a ku-band transponder so that you can it with the FTA system without the big dish.

I wonder which will get it up first, Dish Network or Direct TV?
