Audio Levels from E* receivers

I notice a large level difference when going between OTA on my Hitachi TV, and the E* 811, as well as from the DVR 522.  Do others notice this level difference, or is it the Hitachi TV?

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to easily boost the audio on the audio inputs?

I had large audio variations on my Sony HDTV when

  using the TWC SA-3250-HD  Cable set top box....

  In the 3250-HD menu are some Audio settings

  using the Cable Box Remote...

   I changed one of the Audio settings from Variable

  to Fixed  Now the TV channel switching seldom

   has large Sound differences....
