Hello all,

For the past several days I have not been able to get 12-1 even though I have plenty of a signal, it is just blank?

What is up with that.

Even 6-1 came in fine yesaterday, though I am not sure if they showed the correct game, was that the Packers or Kenosha High School??

I tried rescanning all of the stations, thinking it might have moved but nothing worked???

any thoughts???

I watched the games on Saturday. Everything seemed fine then.

So it must be my TV..

Just do a re-scan and everything will be fine.

My OTA attenna is split to both the Samsung STB and the LG DVR.  I noticed yesterday that the LG had no problems on 12-1, but my Sammy receiver was doing exactly what you describe on 12-1.  Signal strength on the Sammy was solid and full at 8 bars (out of 10? Never saw it full-of-all-possible-strengths :) on that channel.   I could get program info and guide data off the Sammy on 12-1, but no audio and video was blank (white).  No problems with other Milwaukee channels, get 'em all.

I know you said you tried a rescan, but a rescan fixed it for me.  It can't be a coincedence we both have Samsung tuners with the same problem.  12-1 must have done/changed/fixed something that other receivers accounted for automatically, but our Samsung tuners needed a manual nudge.

I will try again tonight ...  I am glad to hear that someone else had the same issue...

Thanks,

I had the same problem on my Samsung also, did a rescan and all was fine.  My Dish 811 had no problem.

I have done 3 rescans and nothing has worked.

By rescan I am assuming that you mean "autoscan".

Try deleting the channel from memory and then do a rescan.

hikerak

I tried it today again but it still doesn't work.... I tried deleting the chanel and then rescanning for only that channel, but I guess I haven't tried deleting the channel and then rescanning(auto adding) all the channels again..  I will try that now

Thanks

Hmm, maybe try deleting just that channel from memory, leave it like that, then punch in channel 34 (the "real" vhf channel for 12-1) on the remote and see if you can get it that way?  If you do then you can add just that channel back to memory.  No idea if this is any different than an auto/rescan under the tuner's hood for any one specific channel, but I've used that in the past since it is simply faster than running the whole spectrum with a scan.  Anyway, it's something to try.

May I suggest you go to this website and e-mail TV support.

http://product.samsung.com/cgi-bin/nabc/support/b2c_support_product_results.jsp?eUser=
Click on download center and find your model of tv. On the right hand side you will eventually see e-mail tv support.

They may have a secret reset function that puts the unit back to factory defaults.
Just a thought.

I think I am going to have to email Samsung Support like the above post suggested.  I have tried all combinations of rescanning  but none are working for 12-1....

I will keep you posted...

Message from Samsung :

This may be a broadcast issue since it worked previously because they may have dropped that frequency from the allocated bandwidth. Samsung current model TV are prepared and equipped for the FCC deadline of January 1, 2007 and the digital age of television broadcast, the TV broadcasters' are playing catch up to the receiving equipment. if this where truly a television issue their would be more than one broadcast station affected as in this case.>>>>>>

My email to them

Any help is appreciated..

I reponded that I have been in contact with this board and the others experienced the same problem and such, I even sent them this link .  Any other suggestions?  Should I post the response on that WISN Contact thread?

The only other thing I could think of was maybe your signal was too strong.  I doubt that is the case with the antenna you are using.  It is odd.
