What is needed to be DXer?  Every once in a while i'll flip through the tv channels and pick up WZZM 13 in Michigan and some other station from Michigan.  I'd like to be able to get stations from Illinois and Indiana.

A very good outdoor antenna.  Thou with just a medium type Radio Shack I'm doing well picking up Michigan and Illinois during tropo or enhancements.  I also have my TV antenna amplified.  I am also into FM DXing using the Radio Shack FM Hi-Gain antenna mounted on top of the TV antenna, however the FM part is NOT amplified.  I live near WMYX, and WKKV 2 powerhouses that, especially WKKV was all over the FM band when I had the receiver connected to the TV antenna.  I don't have a problem with overload on the TV side.  I hope someday I have the eagerness to purchase a larger TV antenna one for deep fringe and should that cause the TV to overload I'll remove the amp.

My current setup here in Muskego with the rotor aimed at Chicago, Fox 32 comes in snow free all the time.  On some good enhancements Fox 32 Digital comes in very well too.

During the summer at times I've received TV stations like WGBH-TV, ch. 2 Boston, MA. and Ch. 2 in Houston, TX, Daytona Beach, FL.

My best long distant tropo have been Ch. 54 in Erie, PA., and Ch. 22 in Pittsburgh, PA.  I've also received ch. 18 in Lexington, KY back in the 70s when WVTV would be off the air during the morning hours.  I have tons of loggings of various TV stations too including a few Canadian TVs and FMs.
