Time Warner sets store by Maxtor

Time Warner Cable has ordered its first shipment of external digital video recorder hard drives from storage specialist Maxtor Corp. With drive capacities ranging from 40 Gigabytes to 300 GB, the Maxtor QuickView Expander is initially designed to be compatible with Scientific-Atlanta's Explorer 8300-series DVRs. Versions fitting other brands are in the works. It will be made available in select, and as yet unannounced, Time Warner markets.
