QuoteMy prediction doesn't take much imagination. Welcome back to the 70's and the Beta-VHS wars...just this time the trade names have changed not the players.

I'M WAITING!!!  I still have a pair of SONY SLHF-1000 Beta decks. :guns:

Sorry about that.  Not sure why I started this thread here either.  I'm usually pretty good at starting a topic in the right category.  But in this case I didn't. Sorry about that.

Actually, I don't even know why I bothered to start this topic.  Its lame!

It's not like there's that much traffic, either, as to where organization matters a lot.

Someday, Tom, someday ;)

According to my browser this thread is in "On/Off Topic Chit-Chat"  That seems appropriate.

Here's a prediction:  The Packers beat the Vikings this weekend.

I thought of a decent prediction.  It has nothing to do with HDTV.

I predict that in the fall WDJT-TV will pick up "Wheel of Fortune" and aired that at 6:30 pm weeknights.  While WTMJ-TV, ch. 4  once again expands their 6:00 pm News to 1 hour.  Therefore WTMJ-TV providing News from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm with NBC News at 5:30 pm.

Oh with the exception of Monday night, at 6:30 pm the Green Bay coach (whoever that might be, if Sherman gets fired) has his show.

Thanks for the move.  I agree this is were it should be.  I don't know why I put it under "Programming".  Maybe I was enjoying the holidays a bit too much.

My "feeling" or "crystal ball reading":

TWC will add Cinemax and Starz! HD along with ESPN2-HD
soon and if the latter comes first, it will get complaints from more than just this subscriber.:D
TWC will add Universal HD Channel around summertime along with some other channel like Starz! or Encore HD if it hasn't already!
TWC will continue to fight with Sinclair Broadcast Group until Directv has HD LiLs for the Milwaukee market including its HD channels-or-a "must carry" is instated.:(

Directv: Has HD LiLs for many markets, exception Milwaukee as it not in the top numbers - wait for 2006.
Directv will have TNT-HD, ESPN2-HD and those Cinemax HD and Starz! HD channels along with more Cinemax and Starz! SD channels due to a contract negotiation.

Dish: Will attempt to add addtional O&O networks HD channels besides its current CBS offering and aim for adding Universal HD Channel - but could be blocked in its attempt to acquire Voom to get more HD channel capacity.

Voom: It makes a last-ditch effort to add additional customers and releases its DVR with multi-room capabilities,  but Directv announces the same and derails it as a leader in this offering.

CES show is going on - so - it is anyone's guess what will be announced - let's all hope it is good for all of us with HDTVs!
