Hey all !

I'm using a Panasonic TU-HDS20 for my OTA/DirecTV HD receiver.

I get guide data for all OTA/D* channels /except/ the CBS58 family.

Is anyone out there getting guide data from the CBS58 family ? Am I doing something wrong ? JimHall ?

Thanks for the help !

Todd.

Ditto... I have the same box and get the same results. What's the scoop?

I've got the RCA and I don't get anything anymore...used to but maybe it had something to do with the switch to the rebroadcast of HDNET and someone forgot to switch something.

Todd;

What ver. of software is your STB operating on?

Thanks for replying, Jim.

It's ver 8.1, the latest update from DirecTV.

I have never received guide data, regardless of version.

I'm happy to change any settings or whatever you'd like to try.

On my E86 I get guide data for 58-2, but I don't even have 58-1 listed and I have never gotten any guide data for the 1-x channels.

Yes, my E86 acts the same way. I thought 58 didn't even *have* an HD channel (58-1) until I did a "Local Scan" and 1-* came up.

It's an odd setup. Similarly the DirecTV guide didn't provide the 10-2 or 10-5 channels and those didn't appear until my "Local Scan". (I couldn't figure out what "eagle's nest" everyone was so hot about.) heh heh

So, to stay on topic, my 1-* channels do NOT have any guide data, as well as my 10-2 and 10-5 channels. It appears the guide data comes from DirecTV. ??

Naw the guide data comes from the transmitting station not Directv for the local OTA's.  I get guide data on 4-1 and all the 10's, just not getting it on 1-1 anymore.

The Hughes E86, Toshiba, and Mits do get an "Advanced Programming Guide" from DirecTV.

Directv sends out information that is as up-to-date as the newspaper guides.

Try going into the installation setup page and selecting "no dish"  under the dish setup choice on the page.

The guide will change a bit for locals.  In my experience with the E86,  the APG from DirecTV supercedes the info sent from the locals.

This led to a problem for me in Madison.  WHA DT 21-1 would become their analog channel instead of their digital.  There was no way to see digital unless I manually typed in 20-1.  This problem was corrected in a few weeks after the Hughes tech support called the back door of DirecTV's tech people.
