Since the Directv has been banned from the household (by spouse),
I have the following available for anyone who wants to pick it up-or it can be donated to the forum
-though numerous attempts have not been successful
-so I'm posting here what's in the original box:

RCA DTC-100 Directv HD receiver complete with:
-Remote
-Instruction Manual
-Powered adapter for component output to any HDTV monitor.

Anyone interested from this forum in this freebee can send me a pm and it will have to picked up at a time convenient to both of us.:D

Thank you!

Thanks for your offer...  If you don't get a taker from here, let me know, and we'll put it up on ebay.

gparris, I could pick up the receiver antime, if jimbop99 falls through.  Just let me know.  I'm looking for an ota receiver (For cheap, the wife says I spent too much on the HT already!) and I live in Kenosha as well, so I could pick it up anytime, anyplace you say!

gparris - did you use an antenna for OTA HD channels when using the DTC-100?  I just bought a DTC-100 on Ebay, and am looking for an antenna to use with it (I'm in Waukesha).  I currently have TWC, but am looking to cut monthly costs, and thought OTA would be a good place to start.  I'll be scanning the forums when I finish this post to see what antennas are currently out there for me...I'd prefer one I can put on the TV or entertainment shelf, as it'll probably be moved around between the upstairs HDTV and the downstairs Sony 1272 projector.  Since I've read the various OTA receivers have different sensitivities, I wanted to see what you were using as a starting point in my search.  Anyone else with the same receiver, feel free to chime in!

Thankyou, all forum members who replied and sent pm messages.:)

Today, one of our dearest forum members picked up the receiver and is installing it with extra dish, cabling and so on for a heart patient friend of his...a real Christmas chariable event!;)

Hope all goes well, as I packed in with care, took good care of it since disconnection and rechecked everything before handing it over in its original box.:D

Whoever you are out there, hope you enjoy Directv HD and the local HD channels once it gets installed for you and I hope your heart is happy with HDTV!

Thanks again for your many kind and thoughtful replys, forum members!

I want to thank Gparris for the wonderful receiver for my friend, which I'll be adding a spare triple lnb oval dish mount and coax to for my friend.  My buddy Dave received a donor heart now 10 years ago, but due the stress on his system and the drugs he has to take his kidneys have now failed and he goes in for dialysis 3 times a week and is on the waiting list for a donor.  Dave will greatly enjoy this box as he was ready to spring for it out of his savings but this saves on the money.  Hopefully we will get this installed early next week.

Once again thanks Greg it's really appreciated.
