DirecTV to Drop Trio

DirecTV confirmed it will drop Trio from its lineup at the end of the year.

A DirecTV spokesperson said the company is exercising an option in its contract to discontinue carriage of Trio on Dec. 31. There have been no decisions as yet on what other programming will fill the channel space, the spokesperson added.

TRIO delivers pop culture, film, music, fashion, television and stage in its programming. At the moment, the channel is available to more than 20 million households via digital cable and satellite services.
