For the last two weeks NBC has been broadcasting in the 16:9 format but it is not being broadcast in HD.  The shots from inside the cars are in the 4:3 format.  Anybody know about this?

HD cameras are pricey... I doubt they'd invest in those cameras to place in every race car which could easily crash and destroy the equipment.

They must be really pricey, They can't even get HD cameras to cover the race period!!

It's broadcast in Widescreen not HD.

NASCAR is the only major sports contract (other than Notre Dame football) they have and they can't even cover it in HD.

Once every 4 years we get HD sports from NBC, and then it's a 24 hr tape delay, over and over again.

Sheesh:bang:

Oh alright... that post was a bit confusing, I thought he was asking why the shots in-car were 4:3 while the race is 16:9.

There's a lot of races on HDNet, if you've got cable.

Yep on Directv also, Champ cars, NASCAR West series.

I would just like to see Lowes speedway in HD at night!
