Goodbye Milwaukee, Hello Madison...

I'm just writing this to help anyone in the Hartford area who seaches this forum in the future.

I had a heck of a time picking up HD OTA signals from north Hartford (near the VFW).  I tried both a ChannelMaster 4221 4 Bay and 4228 8 Bay antenna both inside the attic and outside from a second story window and could never get any signal from CBS 58 or FOX 6.  I tried preamps, attenuators, compasses, etc. but nothing worked.

This weekend I gave up on Milwaukee and tried Madison, using my CM4221 4 bay, and picked up everything but Fox,  which I later found out is broadcasting in VHF.  I could only get about 30% signal strength so  I went to Radio Shack (In WB, the Hartford location didn't have it) and bought their VU-90 XR VHF\UHF antenna.  Hooked it up in the attic, pointed it roughly toward Madison and with about 5 minutes of tweaking picked up every station (CBS, NBC, FOX, PBS, ABC, UPN, and mabye WB, but I can't remember).  Everything is coming in at over 70% strength.

I changed the ZIP code on my TS160 to a random Madison ZIP and recieved all the programming guides and logos.

After a few frustrating weekends its a great feeling to finally be done with this.

I hope this information helps someone in the future.
