DirecTV people--are you getting MLB on FoxHD 88?

You may be listed as being in an area served by another Fox Station (Madison maybe).  Fox feeds are only being allowed in areas where the local station is Owned and Operated by Fox, like WITI in Milwaukee.  You can argue your point with Directv but if they show you in Madison's contour you'd have to get a waiver from the Madison station.

Living in Tosa, I haven't been receiving either 88/89.  I was also on the phone last night and was told I wasn't eligible, it was available for $2.50/month if my form was approved which could take 45 days.  Obvisously this CSR didn't know what she was talking about.

Should I be receiving one of these?  I like many others I have the premier package, locals, and HD package, I only want what is available when spending $100/month.

Would calling again get anywhere for tonight's game?  My 6-1 is hit and miss so I'd like the guarentee that i'll be able to see this game in HD.

try again--they all have their heads up their ass on this. When I called Sunday, the CSR said D* has no control over those channels & couldn't activate it for me--he told me to call my local Fox affiliate.

Well I must be having a senior moment... Why are some of you getting Ch 88 free and others have to pay $1.50/month?

Well someone somewhere is lying.  I've been getting it since day 1 and still am, watched the game last night for a bit......talk about a mess......

I also got first game and then nothing. The funny thing was, I had just replaced a bad receiver with a new one so I thought it may have been something with to do with that. But, I guess I'm not alone. The only good thing is that I'm not a baseball fan,  I am a HD fan, so I probably would have watched it if it was available. I would like to get the national feed at sometime until I can pull in FOX OTA.

I also got Game 1 and nothing since. Called D* 15 minutes ago and was told I should get, re-boot my box, did that and no change of course. He ran through 7 steps at their end and no change. He requested a waiver but thought ut wasn't necessary. Nothing more he or I could do. What gives?!?!:bang:

Well I wasn't getting it either, first call to directv got typical reboot, reprogram the card. Nothing worked. Called again and got a girl who said I must be transfered to the HD department. HD department looked up my zip code, and bang channel 88 appeared. The guy said they are working on getting it full time, but right now  only the the baseball games, and only one of the channels, the one closest to you.

So my advice, don't mess around with the CSR, when they answer ask to be transefered to the HD department. Total time minus being on hold, less than a minute.

I've been getting it with no problem since day 1 also.

Sometimes I wonder if there's more than company running the Directv show.

I've been a subscriber for about 7 years and cannot in all honesty, say I've ever had a problem with CSR, programming, equipment etc.

Maybe I'm the exception rather than the rule.

BTW, The OTA PQ is still better than channel 88.;)

I just spoke with the HD Dept. and was told I should only receive the Pre and Post game on channel 88. I thought that sounded goofy so I asked for her supervisor. The Super advised me that actually there is now a problem contractually between D* and FOX and that they have "turned off" the broadcast on channels 88 and 89 and no one should be receiving them as of today until the negotiations are concluded between them and FOX.

We'll have to see, I'll let you know if it comes in on 88.  Seems kind of funny there would be a contract dispute considering they are both owned by Rupert Murdoch.

I'll let you know.

Well call them back and tell them they are FOS!  I'm getting the game tonight...no problems here..  Maybe you misunderstood and they only meant the rest of the programming, because right now it's only the MLB Playoffs when the channel is active.

I am watching it on 88 again tonight.

Doesn't really make much of a difference as I can pick up Fox OTA anyway.

The only OTA that I have received from Faux 6 is the pleayoff games.  Because 6 doesn't care about its OTA viewers, I have been watching D* ch 88 all the time.  Probably the only shows that Fox will be broadcast on 88 will be the shows out of New York which are broadcast in HD.  I boycott Faux 6 even for Packer games.  I have noticed that since 88 appeared, the power of 6 has gone from the 20's to the high 40's, but I am sure that is due to the sudden fall of leaves from the trees!

Thanks for all of the feedback, I called them back and told them I didn't like getting smoke blown up my a@@. This time the person was competent (hopefully) and told me that I should receive it and it should now come on tomorrow night when the Series starts. She was very apologetic and couldn't explain the statements I was given yesterday.

We'll see tomorrow night if she is as good as her word.
