Late Thursday, Lockheed Martin-backed International Launch Services launched SES Americom's AMC-15 satellite, which will support EchoStar's DISH Network.

AMC-15 is part of SES Americom's Americom2Home satellite TV platform, and EchoStar will use the spacecraft for delivery of additional services via its DISH Network DBS offering. The satellite has both a Ku-Band and Ka-Band payload.

The launch of AMC-15 took place aboard a Russian-built Proton rocket, and the satellite and launch vehicle lifted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.
