Charter Communications Milwaukee Stations Added to Area HDTV Lineup

Charter High Definition Service Launches More Stations
 
Charter Communications has expanded its offering of super-clear high-definition programming, adding two more Milwaukee broadcast stations to its High Definition Service lineup today in Dodge and Washington counties, with a third station to follow shortly. Charter announced today that customers with a high-definition television and a Charter HDTV digital receiver now can enjoy WTMJ-NBC, WISN-ABC and WDJT-CBS in outstanding clarity in high-definition. WITI-FOX will be added to Charter's HDTV line-up very soon, as a few last minute technical issues get resolved. When WITI is added, Charter will offer all four major Milwaukee network affiliates in high-def, plus HDNet, HDNet Movies, ESPN-HD, HBO and Showtime.

"Each month, more TV programs are produced in HD, and more programming services begin to offer their content in high-def," commented Lisa Washa, Vice-President of Operations for Charter. "The entire high definition technology is still in its infancy, but growing up quickly. We are watching it closely, in order to stay up with the progress," Washa said. "The addition of the Milwaukee stations in HD is important to us and our customers, because cable TV is the only service offering local broadcasters in HDTV."

Charter high-definition customers in Dodge and Washington counties will find the Milwaukee HDTV stations on digital channel 784 for WTMJ-NBC, channel 788 for WDJT-CBS and channel 782 for WISN-ABC.
