D* is moving the PPV channels in the 100's.  The "mailbox" on my receiver said that the channels were moving further into the 100's.  I wonder if D* is doing this to free up some space for more HDTV channels?  Any thoughts?

I am not in the know like many on this board, but it appears that all DirectTV is doing is moving the "movies" to 126 and higher, and moving the "events" to 100-125 (i.e. Wrestling, etc.)

I would say that I have noticed a huge dropoff in the number of PPV movie channels on Direct TV the last 12 months.

It used to be that first run movies had 4-5 channels allocated to them for about two weeks, and then maybe 2 channels for another two weeks.

The avs forum that our forum has a link that describes the Bravo HD channel being renamed the "Universal HD" channel on Dec.1st.
So while it may not be a new channel number, a new look and name. This change was discussed before, but the name change is something new. ;)

As for the new channel name, Directv HD subscribers will have something to be happy about, unless all that "culture" has finally got to them.

IMO, the possiblity of getting the Sci-Fi Channel, USA Channels in HD is very exciting over Bravo HD current fare.

Maybe by the time it comes on with the corresponding name-change, TWC and Dish will have it, too.
