Just looking for a little feedback on the Samsung HD Directv sat receiver.  My Hughes took a dive on me and it was replaced by the a Samsung via Directv.  I have noticed with the local chanel strength meter that the Samsung is all over the board.  The Hughes was pretty much dead on at 78% or higher.  The Samsung will bounce through 0% - 45% but never stays the same.  I have also noticed I now have some problems with WB, UPN and CBS.  A lot of drop outs or searching for signal.

Any feedback would be great!

Thanks!

We have the same receiver and I do notice that the signal does bounce all over the place, but I haven't noticed any problems with WB, UPN, and CBS.

maybe it's because I am so far north of the city?

You are not too north. I live in Belgium and I have no problem, except fot 6-1 of course. I used to have off and on problems with 58-1 but now since I moved my antenna a little things are better. I also have the Samsung box that you have and I feel the signal meter is incorrect. I show a solid 45% to 57% for 6-1 and I can't even see a picture, but for 58-1 I have a bouncing signal from 0%-36% and it shows up just fine. I think you should look at what kind of antenna you are running. Because I live so far north I bought the channelmaster 8 bay UHF monster antenna. I have it pointed exactly at 190 deg. like the antenna web says and all is cool. You might even know who I am in person. I bartend at Harbor Hills on Sat. nights.

Good luck with you HD endevours and don't forget to check out HD ppv "spice clips" at least once. The picture is wild" :drink: :guitar:
