I am unable to receive HD  programing On WITI channel 6. I have reprogramed my HD receiver several times and cannot get the 6.1 channel.

I have a powered HD antenna (no cable) that receives excellent signal strength for all the other HD channels.

I live in the Waterford, Wisconsin area which is about 10 miles North East of Burlington.

I am at best a novice at this stuff and have no idea other than the possibility that I am too  distant from the signal.

Can anyone out there help?

Thanks in advance!

I'd say your chances of receiving 6-1 with an indoor antenna at your location would be 1 of 2>  Slim and None.

WITI-DT is running very low power (less than 5kW ERP) using a Low Power antenna that has a cardiod pattern with the main lobe being West.  You are on the edge of the lobe and probably would have a good shot at receiving it with an outdoor antenna.

But don't feel bad, up here in Cedarburg with an outdoor antenna I can only receive them about 5% of the time because there is no lobe on their antenna pattern to cover this area.  However by next May 1 that should improve as they are mandated by the FCC to run enough power to cover 80% of the viewing area.

Maybe....the government is always flip/flopping.:bang:

That also should mean many of the other DTV transmitters will be force to increase their signal.

WJJA-TV hasn't put their DTV on, and it's way past the mandate.  I suppose they intend to broadcast a couple more years and hang it up.  Besides who wants to watch Home Shopping Network anyways.

I live in Racine and have a roof antenna on a rotor, and I can't get Ch 6 either (or 58 for that matter).  I'd say even a roof antenna wouldn't be enough, since you aren't any closer to the tower than I am.

I am on the north side of Racine and I pick up witi digital perfectly.  I am using an 8 bay channel Master about 30 feet up.

That date is July 1 for big 4 in top 100 markets.

The quicker the better, does it really cost that much more to power it up a little more?????

I think it is pretty expensive.  Also, from what I understand the money has to come from the parent company, so it's probably not a local decision.

Yes it is quite expensive to power up.  Also the increase in power usage goes up.
