It sounds like TMJ4 is going to delay the Tonight Show with Jay Leno for a couple of minutes tonight (10/8) for Presidential debate reaction.
Since we don't have an HD delay unit that means Leno will have to be seen in SD tonight.
This is just a Milwaukee decision. In the rest of the nation Leno will be on at his regular time, and will be seen in HD as usual.

Oh Well Sean,

Its just a matter of time and money when WTMJ-TV just like the other stations both local and national have enough money to purchase such equipment designed for HD technology.  I'll bet someday WTMJ-TV will be the first TV station in Milwaukee to offer local news in High Definition.

Thank you for letting us know in advance. Sometimes you want to call the station and let them know out of frustration, now I know in advance, if anything else. :)
John L is right, though, that WTMJ will probably be the first with HD local equipment for local programmes like news as this station has been the pioneer for many years in technology.
When colour television came out, NBC had shows coming like "Bonanza" and Disney's "Wonderful World of Color"and they had it local, here along with the news and all. My mother was the "colour girl", at 'TMJ in the 50's, changing what no longer worked in B&W, like blue shirts instead of white (at least that is what she told me).
In the 60's, as FM radio went stereo, their FM station was ready.
In the early 80's, as TV added stereo broadcasts, and later surround, they were upfront and ready.
So, with HD, yes, I think that they will be the ones to go first with local HD broadcasting, keeping a tradition on being the first!;)
