HDTV onDemand?

Does anyone know if TWC might be planning on adding an HDTV onDemand channel anytime in the future? Are the boxes or the network even capable of doing this?
It'd be pretty cool, and after all, they seem to have onDemand channels for just about everything else.

TWC probably wouldn't have anything to do with it. inDemand was supposed to come out with HD channels, but after inHD came out nothing more was heard. So far AFAIK the only two providers who have HD PPV or PPV-like programming are DirecTV and Echostar.

The only time TWC had a HD PPV  channel it was some time ago when the fight occurred on Channel 502 in HD.
I thought they were on to something, but then again, it probably takes a lot of bandwidth for those analogue channels they must  have, especially those shopping channels, are ever-so-important to them!

Aside from the SD I-Control channels they just keep on adding, there probably won't be any HD PPV or INDemand HD fare so mentioned.

Personally, I would prefer the Cinemax HD and Starz!HD channels to come on board at TWC, but that won't happen unless Directv has them.

HD PPV would be nice, but I would like to see a lot more regular HD channels first. My bill is high enough without spending more on PPV. If there is enough bandwidth for both, then great.

HD PPV is nice on DirecTV because it kind of "negates" the desire for all of the other HD movie channels. I mean don't get me wrong, I still want them, but I know that if I want Butterfly Effect, Freddy vs. Jsaon, ROTK, etc I can get it off of the PPV channel in HD.

I would LOVE Cinemax, Encore, Starz, TMC, etc.. but PPV HD makes that just absence a little bit better.

FYI: INHD is owned by InDemand.  And, yes HD-VOD is on the radar screen... and the radar is not set to 'long range'.  As a matter of fact, TW is pioneering the push to HD-VOD, just like they were the first company to agressively launch SD-VOD.  Since they have proven to the industry that VOD does work, many more cable companies have now followed.

Adding HD-VOD will take no additional bandwidth away from other broadcast programs.  The HD-VOD service(s) will be built within the existing  VOD system, not in addition to it.

Summerfun:  Who says all of HD-VOD program offers will cost something?  Even I don't know enough to assume that!:)

Exactly... look at all the VOD channels we now have for free with TWC! Also, I'm hoping on the PPV channel they'll let you watch the trailers for free... I'm a big movie trailer junkie and HD trailers onDemand would rock!

Mhz40,

I did not say VOD (video on demand). I said PPV (pay per view) which by definition is PAY!!!

I use VOD for HBO and Showtime and many others all the time. I think it is one of the greatest benefits of TWC. None are in HD, but it would be nice if they were. Adding PPV in HD is not a priority to me as I would not likely PAY for another program. I would like to see them add more HD to regular and VOD before they add HD to PPV if they only have bandwidth for one or the other. If they can do both, then great.

I was originally talking about HD onDemand in GENERAL. That would include free and pay per view VOD. That would not include HD PPV in general.
