Can anyone advise the proper way to connect a laptop computer, for a Power Point presentation, to an HD-Ready TV such as an RCA Model D61W20.  I am under the impresion a scan converter such as a DVGACOMP Model 40226 would need to be connected between the laptop computer and the TV.  If this is correct, what kind of picture qualtiy can be expected?

Thanks for info anyone can provide.

I'm no big expert, but I think you'd need something like these:

They'll convert VGA output (the monitor connector on your laptop) to component connectors.

That's not going to change the format...the computer is outputting RGB...what you need is a transcoder.
