Northern Burb's OTA Question

A question for those of you north of Milwaukee who are watching WLUK (FOX 11) in Green Bay for the Packers in HDTV...  Does anyone know if they are having problems with their digital signal??  Are they broadcasting in low power right now??  I live in the Sheboygan area, and I am approximately 50 miles from the "tower farm" on Capitol Drive in Milwaukee.  So, of course, Fox 6 in Milwaukee is hopeless with my rooftop OTA UHF antenna, rotor, and LG LST3510A receiver.

We were watching the Packer / Colts game Sunday, and about mid-way through, the signal all but disappeared.  It really hasn't been back solid (watchable) since, and last night, nothing at all when I checked.  By the way, all the other Green Bay stations I am receiving fine with very good signal strength.  Any thoughts or comments??

Watching the rest of game via our "back-up" analog Charter cable signal on the big screen was sure depressing.  HDTV is definitely spoiling us all, and that is a good thing!

By the way, I'm a new-bie to the posts, but have enjoyed the site ever since I found it a few months back!

Thanks!

are you running into a multiswitch? A similar thing happened to me with WVTV and I have a feeling that the antenna input on my multiswitch was/is starting to go bad. running tyhe antenna straight to the receiver did the trick.

No switch or splitters in my RG-6 coax line.  I have a straight run of about 60 feet of coax directly to my receiver from my outside antenna.  All other receivable stations in both Milwaukee and Green Bay show excellent signal strength.

Hello again everybody...

I just found this reply on the "AVS" forum for the Green Bay area and this might explain things:

HI lovebohn
I called WLUK Monday after noon the engineer said they were taking the signal off the air. Its not been back on as of late Tuesday night. As I posted earlier the game Sunday was unwatchable so I would assume they had complaints and started to work on it Monday. Digital broadcast are new to them and I am sure they are facing a learning curve. I bought my new antenna on Monday and I called them. The jury is still out on the Zeniths GEMTV I am trying, I also had breakups on TV 32 so I had a hard time understanding were my issue's the new antenna or station related. Anyone having any luck picking up Fox or is it just me?

It's kinda difficult to pick up a signal that isn't there!  I hope they get it fixed in time for the Giants game!
