For all the Charter customers here,  I just received this from them today:

David-your email was forwarded to me from TV6. Charter has concluded contract negotiations with WITI-Fox and WTMJ-NBC, and hopefully will conclude with WDJt-CBS within a week or so. We plan on adding all three
stations to join WISN-DT by Oct 15, if all goes well electronically.
We have tested digital interference at our West Bend tower, with South Bend analog stations interfering with the Milw digital signals. Therefore, we have negotiated with Time Warner to interconnect with them for
reception of all big-four Milw network stations.

Hope this helps.

Dave-

What channels are you getting through Charter right now in HD?

I don't have the HD Pack right now but both ABC and NBC out of Milwaukee are available to me if I wish to pay for them, fortunately I get the ABC, NBC, FOX, and CBS off air from Madison well.  I have been awaiting Charter to add FOX and CBS, mainly because I like Fox 6 better than 47 out of Madison.

Gadget,

As of right now I get ABC-HD, ESPN-HD, HD Net, HD Net Movies, Showtime HD, and HBO HD through them. (currently the only HD channels that they offer)

I also have an OTA receiver that picks up everything except Fox 6,  so that's why this has got me so excited.  I was afraid I was going to miss all the HD football games on Fox this year...

No, nothing yet...  Hopefully by Friday like they told me.

Charter in Richfield now has added Channel 4 and 58 still no 6.  Its good to see progress.  I am now using the Moxi from Charter with mixed results.   I will write a review in a few days and put it in the recorder section.

Nice to hear that Charter is expanding it's lineup, I wish it was across the board though.  You think within a 50 mile radius we would all be watching the same HD Channels.

Today Charter activated WTMJ (NBC) and WDJT (CBS) in the West Bend area - although they didn't send any notification. It's only because of this forum that I was aware to check. Thank you!

No Fox yet. Hopefully before the Packer game on Sunday.

Charter has sent a message saying CBS, NBC and Fox are now available in HD. They were wrong as of this morning... still no Fox.

davezen2

I'm hoping they get Fox going on the system pretty soon. You'd think that if they sent out that message over the system last night, they must be pretty close to getting it going.  I'd like to watch some of the baseball games in HD...

NOT to change the subject but, I noticed while purusing the TV Guide online listings for my area today, that they have a channel #172 listed that is labeled D-HDTV which based on the programming is Discovery HD.  I don't have this in my guide, nor do I see it on Charters website anywhere, but was curious if any of the rest of you Charter subscribers have seen this.  Strangely, it is way out of the range of channels normally in the HD range, since mine are all 778 and up.  Does any one else receive D-HDTV through Charter, or is this telling us something is coming?

I'm not picking up a channel 172 at all...
And yes it seems strange that they would add an HD channel down in those numbers.  Perhaps it will be 772?

On a side note, Charter sent out another message through the system today similar to the one from a couple of nights ago about the local HD channels added, except this time no mention of Fox 6???

Here's an e-mal from Charter when I asked about FOX:

"Thank you for contacting us. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you.

I apologize that you are not receiving Fox yet. The launch of this channel has been delayed. We will make this channel available just as soon as we are able to.

I am glad that I could be of assistance to you, if you need further assistance please call our customer service at 1-800-581-0081. Representatives are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Thank you for choosing Charter Communications."

When I asked if there was a timeframe for FOX, here was her reply:

"No, unfortunately, we have are unable to give a time frame. The new launch date has not been released yet."

Looks like we can kiss an HD World Series good-bye....

davezen2

Fox is finally up and running on channel 786.
Figures they get it going one day AFTER the world series....

Oh well, good news for the rest of the Packers season anyway! :)
