Another WITI reception question

I'm getting WITI in Germantown with the Channelmaster 8 bay in my attic.  Every minute or so, I get small pixilation on the screen.  I've spent hours adjusting the antenna and can't do any better.  My question is, would an antenna amplifier help me at all?

Maybe. How long is the cable run from the antenna to the tv? Are there any splitters? Is it all RG-6 cable?

The pre-amp is really only meant to increase the signal enough to overcome line losses. If there is not enough signal at the antenna, the amp won't help. If there is enough signal at the antenna but too much is lost on the way to the tv, then the amp will help.

In my case, I have the 8 bay in the attic with a Channel Master 7778 pre amp.  It was about $45 and is both UHF and VHF. The 7775 is UHF only. Based on the info I found, the 7700 series pre-amps are the best. I don't have any first hand knowledge of any other amps.

I installed the Winegard AP-8700 in the line today and now I can't even lock into a signal.  Why would this be?  I have about a 50ft run of RG6.

When I have the pre-amp and power supply in the line, I can't get a signal.  If I just have the pre-amp, I get a signal but not as good as without.

You have to much gain.  Get a attenurator.  It is a very fine line with some channels.
