I've heard a few people on this board talk about adjusting overscan, and more advanced things beyond brightness, color, and contrast.  My question is how do you adjust these things on your tv?  I have a 46" Samsung DLP widescreen HDTV.  The model number is listed below.  Also how do you know what a good setting is while adjusting.  I thought the TV looked really good right out of the box.  I did do a THX calibration that was on the Finding Nemo DVD.  Thanks in advance.

Since a DLP is a fixed pixel display, things like convergence, and overscan don't apply. Same with focusing of the phospher guns simply because they don't have any. However, correct tracking of greyscale, as well as correction in color to the D65 (6500k) standard are more advanced things that can be done, ususally by a professional.

Fixed pixel displays technically should look pretty perfect right out of the box...atleast more so than a projection type.

Hope this helps

There's plenty of info on the AVS Forums if you search for it.  Suffice to say, there are no golden preset values in the setups for any given unit.  Much depends on bulb type, firmware, source material quality etc...  I ran through the whole setup on my set and produced marginal improvements --- not really worth the effort.  In fact, as my bulb has now aged a few hundred hours, it looks better than when I pulled it out of the box.
