Doesn't ESPN and ABC send 720p for NFL games?  If so, why do they look better?   I hope Borghe is correct and they do some tweaking to improve things.

720p, great. Mine down converts it to 480p

common problems related to the actual broadcast are macroblocking, color spanning, bad edge enhancement (or scan velocity modulation as your tv calls it), etc. The games had none of those. what they had were ovesaturated colors and overexposed whites. If you looked at particularly some of the darker shots you would see more of what you are used to.

ABC had the SAME problem, and so did CBS in the beginning.. the increased color depth afforded by HD means you have to be muych more careful about how you shoot vs SD. SD's color will usually be pretty dramatically reduced by the time it makes it to our sets. HD this isn't the case.

Never fear though, I have complete confidence that Fox will prevail.. they just need a couple more games under their belts.. it could be worse.. this could be the superbowl like ABC had it a few years ago.. nothing like having HD ruined by tons of overexposed jerseys...

When I tuned into the CBS game I thought it looked awful.

Pixelation, macroblocking like crazy, Picture freezing, Sound droputs, etc.

Some of the problems I saw with the picture looked like a 4 square macroblok at times, almostlooked like they were trying to broadcast four picture in picture blocks.

I have a consistent  80% signal OTA on my Samsung 360.

Then later I tuned in and found the SD pic.

Fox by far had the better presentation. 5.1 DD, with very few dropouts.

Nice job Fox and TV6! :D

CBS and/or 58 had some serious problems yesterday.. the game was literally unwatchable for a good part of it with what I can only describe as some serious digital snow.. :P\\bugs will be worked out.. not worried. but yeah, Fox had the much better overall broadcast in the Milwaukee area.
