Does the sports programming business need a new model?

The September issue of The BRIDGE takes a look at sports programming, its impact and cost on cable/satellite TV distributors and the demand for the content coming from sports fans.

A big issue for cable and satellite TV is the cost of programming. At Cox, executives say ESPN accounts for 18 percent of the cable operator's programming costs, but only 4 percent of its viewing. Other platform providers find themselves in a similar boat, the BRIDGE reports.

How will that model evolve? For some of the answers check out The BRIDGE, at: http://www.mbc-thebridge.com.
